My Approach

You might want to know a little bit about my Counselling approach. Person centred Counselling is fairly unstructured. I will help you to explore what is going on for you, your feelings and how you can move forwards or make the changes that are right for you.

This might involve helping you to come to terms with what has happened or what you have experienced in the past or it might be to help you build your confidence and how you can express and cope with your feelings in a healthier way. 

A warm welcome awaits you and I will provide you with a safe, compassionate and non judgmental space in which you can talk freely about your problems and express your feelings. 

Together we will explore the issues and concerns that are important to you and how they affect your life and overall wellbeing. 

I want to reassure you that I am not going to tell you how to live your life, instead we will work together in a collaborative way. We will go at your pace and we will review our work together on a regular basis. This is to make sure that you get the most out of your therapy and that it continues to meet your needs.

Therapies I offer 

* Person centred Counselling - for a detailed description, please see above 

* Counselling for Depression- this therapeutic approach focuses on your deeper emotions and where you might hold them in your body. This approach has been developed for people who experience mild to moderate depression. Sometimes we don't always know why we feel a certain way and that is okay. Counselling for Depression focuses more on the experience of the emotion and what this is like for you. 

* Pet Bereavement Therapy- this approach combines Person centred Counselling with practical exercises to help you to come to terms with the loss of your pet and what this means to you.
